Good day gentlemen, I have been reading a lot on the subjects presented here, and I am intriuged to say the least. I had no idea that there were as many safe and vault makers in the U.S , or were. Old safes have always interested me , one because they were always painted with nice script and pinstriping , two because locks have always interested me. I have an old York safe that I have picked up. A large model stands about 5' tall . 3' across and 3' deep.It is in good shape, although I can tell it's been drilled and patched on the front of door, still a beautiful example , not one of the best as I can see by some of the pics seen here. I have another smaller safe , a Protectall safe , just a plain jane ,30" tall 19" wide and 24" deep, good shape but locked closed with no combination. What I need to know is , how many #'s in combination ..and which way to start CW or CCW. Could any of you give me advice on this? The serial # is 300044 . From what I have read here, this safe might have been made in the 40's ?? or did another company manufacture these and keep the name? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Jim |
