It sounds like you have a common antique cast iron Diebold safe. They came in single and double door versions. Since it's 5-6 feet tall and it was probably made before fire testing began for safes and vaults it's really not worth much...maybe a couple hundred dollars.

It was probably left in the building you bought due to the costs of removing it by the previous owner. That's a more common occurance than you would really think.... If it sells make sure a properly experienced and properly insured company removes it.... Good Luck.
