I played yesterday for a couple of hours with these boxes -- was able to open all of them. It turned out -- there was no lip on the hinge side, so I was able to un-hinge and pop the doors out one by one with some considerable force (the doors were tightly fit), but without breaking them.

$45 a lock is, of course, prohibitively expensive for me. Maybe buying a lot of suitable locks with keys on eBay would be a better idea, selling the ones I currently have. If not -- it looks like I got a project of finding a bunch of uncut antique Mosler keys and filing away, in my spare time, one by one, to fit to each lock... Fun!

On another thought, maybe I will just remove (and preserve)all the insides from left part of each lock, making it openable by any key, given the guard key presence.
