Not to be worried about any more than other weaknesse in cheap locks. The ones that are most easily bypassed will be more likely to attract an attempt.

Bumping is not much different than risk of picking or cruder efforts.

Less magical than on YouTube, because example products can be doctored.

It is merely one more approach.

I would recommend a quality lock replacement, if you have the typical department store products.

Beware of products CLAIMING to be BumpProof. Some may technically resist bumping, but are still based on a weak bolt design and not resistant to much else.

For a higher level of overall security,I would suggest ASSA, Medeco, MultiLock, BiLock.

Be sure you get their MOST CURRENT product, in a regionally protected key.

The largest risk is always an "inside job" where someone gets a copy of the key made.

Even high security lock systems are available in the open marketplace in one variant, and the keys are NOT protected.

We have Assa Maximum and Assa Exclusive Twin. These BOTH are in a regionally protected profile. Blanks are NOT sold other than to the assign locksmith company.

Taking it up another notch, now you can get Assa and Multilock in the CLiq product.

In addition to the physical UL Rated design, they have integrated electronic access control.

Now you have a lock system with full-feature control and audit.

The same ASSA Cliq key can also operate existing card readers, as they have imbedded an HID credential into the head of the key.

All this security, is built into a standard sized cylinder.

What more could you ask for ?

Your solutions are from your professional locksmith, rather than your lumberyard.
