Replacement of safe lock

Posted by Jeff Manley, ND on July 14, 2011 at 22:04:06:

I have an old Herring-Hall Marvin fire safe that needs a new lock. The old one measures 82mm x 57mm. It has a 65mm extension tube on it. The bolt holes are 68mm x 42mm center to center. The bolt throw is about 11mm. On the bolt it says "PATENTED FEB. 28, 1924". The dial says "SARGENT & GREENLEAF INC LOCKS ESTAB 1865 ROCHESTER N.Y.". The index marks are a star at the 12 o-clock position, and a notch at about the 1 to 2 o-clock position.

Can anyone point me to a replacement? I looked at S&G, but all of the new lock bodies are bigger, and there is no room for a larger lock.

I hope this is enough information. If not please ask.
