Look at the Security Light on the dash and tell us what it does. If after turning the key to the ON position the Security light goes solid then out you are good to go, look elsewhere for the problem such as a starter... Check the fuses. If after turning the key to ON if the Security does not go out but flashes then it would appear that your key is not being recognized. In fact take your key off the ring and try it by itself as the signal to the key is weak and metal objects can confuse it.
