Missing Safe Wheel

Posted by Steve, KC Area on January 02, 2010 at 11:59:48:

I've got an incredibly heavy safe from an antique store in New York. The front of the safe says "Spector Lock and Safe Company". It looks like turn of the century, has a good bit of rust and flaky paint, and is probably 2 1/2 to 3 feet tall with a 2 foot width and depth. In a recent move from New York to Kansas almost all of our possessions arrived unharmed except for...you got it...the incredibly sturdy safe is now missing a wheel! Right now I've got a wooden doorstop wedged under to bracket where the wheel used to be. I don't feel entirely comfortable with this temporary fix. Does anyone know of a good point of contact for the Kansas City area who could help? Does anyone have old safe wheels for sale? If I had a wheel I could get a steel pin and it'd be fine. Thanks,Steve
