Roy, if you take the panel off the door back you can work the dial and get a sense of how the locking mechanism works, and thereby deduce the combination.

The best way would be to hire a safe technician and have that person service the lock and get the combinaton for you.

That way you have some assurance that the safe will continue to work reliably, or if there's anything about to go wrong with it, the tech should be able to see it and prevent it.

Do it yourself safe work can be interesting, but you have to remember that safes are very unforgiving about "little things" you didn't know. Lots of safe owners find this out, so be careful, and be sure you have full understanding of what you're doing before trusting a safe to unlock after you work on it yourself.
