I love the Yale lock on my safe and I am marveling at the entire antique safe
experience including the people (it must be great to be able to manipulate
open a closed safe). I am humbled to realize that many of these mechanisms
are functioning within spec after a hundred years or more of routine
operations. Generous people are everywhere. With patience, anger and
misunderstanding will recede and be replaced by connections with experts
who will recognize the restoration spirt of my questions and I will write more
carefully. In the end we are talking about a nice 100 year old safe getting a
new lease on life. The safe is the thing.
