Hi,

If you are patient and don't get in a hurry. You can put a very light coat of pure virgin linseed oil. Use cheese cloth to put it on. Rub lightly and the first time make sure you get the excess off. Let this dry for a few days. The old paint will absorbed the oil and some areas may even be dry (not shiny)This also bring the color out of the old paint. Just be patient....because if you get too much on...it will get very tacky and you will have areas that look like you have clear paint runs....SO....apply sparingly.

ONCE you start with the linseed oil....I understand that if you want to touch up the paint....then you would have to strip that area of the new oil you put on....
