Additional
Notes...
Subject Lines:
Placing only “Want to Buy,” “WTB,”
Want to Sell,” or “Looking
For”
without any further details is highly discouraged.
Adding some detail in the subject line is much better for both you and
potential buyers who may be interested in that particular item.
Using: “Looking for a Kwikset 2 ¾” latch” for example, is much more
efficient.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Occasionally there is disagreement about shipping charges.
Shipping charges generally fall under one of the following categories and
are what is usually meant by most
sellers...
Shipping included -
No shipping cost to the buyer
Seller pays shipping -
No shipping cost to the buyer
Buyer pays shipping -
The buyer pays shipping, which may be the actual cost to the seller or the
seller must state if there is an
additional amount to be added on top of the actual cost.
Plus shipping -
The buyer pays shipping, which may be the actual cost to the seller or the
seller must state if there is an
additional amount to be added on top of the actual cost.
Plus actual shipping -
The buyer pays what the seller actually paid to ship the item.
Plus shipping and handling
- The seller is adding an additional amount to cover the time to pack
the merchandise and have it sent.
If there is any uncertainty,
contact the seller before agreeing to purchase the item in question! Haste
makes waste.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Insurance is another area
that may cause confusion.
Occasionally the seller requires the cost of insurance (if any) to be
paid for by the buyer and includes it in the "handling" cost. It may also be
charged separately from the shipping or handling. This should be disclosed
in the original sale offer but that is not always the case.
Again - if there is any
uncertainty, contact the seller before offering to purchase.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the item is shipped and never reaches the buyer, it is the
responsibility of the SELLER to follow through with the shipping company,
since many shipping companies will only deal with the person who originally
shipped the package.
If the package never arrives at
the buyer's address, then it is the seller's ultimate obligation to negate
the sale and
promptly repay all monies to the buyer
-
no matter what.
