Charles H. Cole (deceased)

Charlie was the most decorated military person living in New Mexico until his death. He was a Marine during the Korean war and a Air Force officer during Viet Nam war. He rescued more downed pilots than any other person during the war. He did "suicide missions" to rescue pilots when no one else would go. I think he did three or four tours. He was also LBJ's copter pilot when LBJ was president. Charlie didn't brag about his medals or what he did for Uncle Sam and his fellow soldiers during his tours of duty. I'm just glad as hell we were both on the same side. Semper Fi Charlie!
