old York safe

My husband and I have inherited a very large, old York safe. Its got one large front door with one opening handle with decorative paintings on the front. We have no combination for it and wonder if there is anyone who might be able to tell us how we could that info? We have tried looking for a serial number but it's difficult to move due to how big it is plus its been sitting in the same location for years. If anyone could give us any useful information please feel free to email me. thank you
