Most owners of safes believe they have to "start at zero" to begin dialing their combination, this simply isn't true. Follow your dialing directions as they are on the original combination card. If the combination theoretically is 10-20-30 then dial as such:

4 X Left to 10
3 X Right to 20
2 X Left to 30
1 X Right to the dial stops.


This is the dialing procedure for most of the common mechanical safe locks out there today. However, the true dialing procedure depends on the total number of combination wheels in the combination, the manufacturer and age of the lock and how the lock is "handed" on the safe in some cases...

If you have the combination dial as I described above and it most likely will open...
