Hi, I have one of these safes, inside is painted a matt buff with two drawes at bottom and eight oblong bolts on edge of door, says 'size 6 quality'Outside of door is numerous fine coachlines, brass corner castings to door trims brass pull handle, turn handle, keyhole cover and large brass coat of arms of the city of Manchester I only live about 15miles from Manchester in U.K. and will try to find out more localy but the date mentioned appears correct around 1870 Mine is about 3ft high 28" square.
