You need the services of a locksmith with more car experience. As kind as 25 dollar firm was, they ought to have been able to complete the job. Either on site or at their shop.

The lock should not need replacement. BUT, if some one already got the sledgehammer and drill out..... then the new lock should be re keyed to match the ORIGINAL key.

Be wary of phony locksmiths. The phone books, 411 and INTERNET have MOSTLY misleading scam ads.

Get a referral, or go to legallocksmiths.com, which is a fairly new resource for findingg legitimate locksmiths.
