Hi Scott, Dialing instructions vary some from one safe maker to another but most modern safe work this way Left (4) times to the first number Right (3) times to the second number Left (2) times to the third number turn right and the dial should stop turning if you did it correctly Or this Right (3) times to the first number Left (2)times to the second number Right (1) to the third number and stop on that number Thin turn handle These two methods do most safes but not all safes Good luck to you Sir
