Two months ago I thought a Salamander was some sort of lizard. Then a Salamander safe owner was referred to me by another locksmith. Now I'm learning that there's quite a variety of them.

You mentioned that your safe looks like it takes a skeleton key. Well, this safe takes a key like that. I've learned a lot about this one. If they are similar enough, what I've learned could shed some light on yours.

I have managed to unlock and make a key for this unit without harming it in any way.

If you can do it, I'd like to see some pix, especially a close up of the keyhole. Is there a pin in the keyhole requiring a drilled or "pipe" key? This one does. How tall is the keyhole? This one's about an inch. Drop me a line if you want to kick it around.

Brian
