There is no poke hole for the ignition retainer, you have to make one by punching through the thin housing at the top of the keyway the same distance as you would for any VW using a X9 keyblank. Then push in the then spring retainer and pull the ignition cylinder out.

But since your customer only wants to fit keys then remove the passengers door handle and read the code. Yes, it's there on the passengers handle. Remove the screw on the edge of the door and slide the handle forward to remove. Or after removing the handle just remove the philips screw, spring, and cam, place a X-9 blank in the keyway and read the tumblers to fit a key.

It's not really a hard job...shouldn't be a problem at all...
