Gary Safe was local to Spokane for a time, but their safes were more contemporary. Many people confuse Cary with Gary because the painted C in "Cary" is in a Gothic-looking type style that isn't totally discernible from a "G."

Also, when you say a "floor" safe, a floor safe is one with a round or rectangular door that is buried in the floor and surrounded by concrete. Some people confuse the issue with the reasoning that if the safe sits on the floor, it's a floor safe. If the one you think is a Gary is old and ornate in an antique way, it's possible it's a Cary.

Where and how does the name "Gary" appear?
