Diane,

Its was probably built in the 1920's. The value is what the buyer would pay. If you are looking to sell the item place an ad for the price you want and see if anyone bites, if no bites drop the price again and see what happens. They are a good heavy safe and you might just want to keep and use for yourself. I would recommend that you have a safe technician service it if you decide to use it for your self.

In the past here are some things that I have ran accross.

1. Charged customer to open, repair and put back in service.

2. Charged customer to remove the safe as it was no longer wanted.

3.Removed the safe at no charge because it was in pretty good condition. (I wanted the parts to repair other safes that were broken and the customer wanted repaired).

Thanks,
Gary
