Deanna, if the buyer is looking for a small, cheap safe for burglary protection---which means small level of protection and cheaply made, then comparing currently made small cheap safes which sell for $2oo - $500 to yours, if it is good working condition. The advantage in the Victor is reliability. However,if the paint is all original and in decent shape you might get a little more IF you find some one looking for such a safe. The award was not for your safe, it was a design award to the Victor Safe & Lock Co., and the 1865 date predates the company from what I can remember. Maybe said 1885. Doug
